Frequently Asked Questions (these FAQs will be soon updated) :
What is the Chair "Ethics & Transhumanism's)" (ETH) ?
The Chair of “Ethics & Transhumanism(s)”, which was created in November 2016 with the support of the Hauts-de-France region, aims to study the human phenomenon and its inclusion in a socio-cultural and ideological environment shaken by the recent acceleration of technoscientific advances. In particular, it aims to develop and offer to regional, national and international partners a space for open dialogue and reflection, as well as an informed analysis of the nature of trans (and post-) humanism(s) which cover(s) a variety of positions and nuances in the academic, political, and economic arenas. Just as its members share plural philosophical commitments (although ethically unanimously supporting the respect of the inalienable dignity of every human person), the Chair does not aim to defend a priori a specific militant position or a particular ideology. It rather allows for what the university tradition has always offered to society: a privileged space for dialogue and reflection allowing diverse voices to present their ideas, and where the rigorous analysis of facts and reasons is considered to be the most important tool for assessing theories and guiding action.
